Bow High School Interact Club
Who: Madame Barrett and Mrs. Chaffee.
What: The Interact Club at Bow High School is the high school branch of the Rotary Club. It is a community service club that works with the SPCA, Waypoint, NH Food Bank, and many other organizations to give back to the community. Some examples of community give-back events are Movie Night and Bingo Night. Students must earn 10 hours of community service per semester, and these can be covered through Interact Events.
When: Meets at 7AM every other Monday.
Where: Meets in the American Dream room. The rooms rotate between 2311 and 2303. Some Interact events are located in Bow and in Concord.
Why: This club presents an opportunity for students to give back to the community.
How: Applications are sent through the News from the Nest in early fall. If you have any questions, see Madame Barrett or Mrs. Chaffee.
Bow High School Esports Team
Who: Mr. Sheehy and Mr. Dixon.
What: The Esports team teaches collaboration and helps students who want to become involved in something after school. It brings together those who love video games, which helps form a community, and provides leadership opportunities for students.
When: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3-5:30pm. The First Season is from September to December. The Second Season is from late January to April. Tryouts are at the beginning of each season, with no cuts. April 19th is the NHIAA Super Smash Bros Tournament where BHS plays against other NH High Schools. BHS has come in 2nd place for the past two years.
Where: Bow High School Learning Commons, Media Lab, and the Fishbowl. Competitions and Meets are at various schools throughout the seasons.
Why: To bring together a community of people who love video games, and to teach sports principles through video games. Plus, fame and glory.
How: To join, see Mr. Dixon and Mr. Sheehy. Play VS is the platform/league that helps align schools with similar rankings with other schools in the same time zone.
