One of the newest additions to the incredible BHS staff this year is Ms. Tucker. She is one of two art teachers here at Bow High School and currently teaches Photography, Graphic Design, and Pottery. She is also an advisor for the clubs Pottery With a Purpose and National Art Honors Society. Outside of school, she spends her free time creating artistic masterpieces, usually through painting or woodburning.
Describing herself as very Type A, she tripled up in math her senior year of high school and always had a fondness for math logic; therefore, Ms. Tucker originally went to college to major in accounting. However, she quickly realized she was too social and restless to be stuck at a desk all day. Her minor in art then turned into her major, and she got her Masters in art teaching. Ms. Tucker did her internship in art teaching at Sunapee Middle High School and was a long-term substitute at Kearsarge and Hillsboro-Deering High School before coming to BHS.
Having jumped around from school to school in the past, Ms. Tucker is excited to settle here at BHS and become immersed in the school community. Because she is such a social person, Ms. Tucker’s favorite part of the job is forming relationships and getting to know all the students and staff.
“The fun part about having jumped around from school to school prior to this was just meeting a bunch of other great students and great staff everywhere I’ve been,” says Ms. Tucker. “This is just another place for me to meet a bunch of new people and I’m excited because I get to actually foster those relationships after.”
Ms. Tucker hopes to grow her relationships with the community at BHS by starting a dance team. When she was younger, Ms. Tucker danced from elementary school through college, with her favorite styles being Hip Hop and Ballet. However, she also trained in many other styles throughout her years of dancing. Upon coming to BHS, Ms. Tucker noticed that there were many dancers at the school, but yet, there was no dance team. She thinks giving students the opportunity to dance for Bow would be super fun, encourage school spirit, and give dancers the chance to showcase their talents through the school. If you are a dancer here at BHS and would be interested in participating in a school dance team, please contact Ms. Tucker.
Ms. Tucker is extremely excited to be a part of the community here at Bow and can not wait to get to know everyone. She would like to shout out her two clubs, Pottery With a Purpose and National Art Honors Society, which are always looking for new members. Welcome to Bow High School, Ms. Tucker!
