Boys Lacrosse
After achieving the first undefeated season in program history, the Falcons faced high expectations for their 2024 campaign. Once again led by seniors Gavin and Ryan McCabe, the team only lost a few key defensive players from the class of 2023. The Falcons concluded the season with a 10-4 record, advancing to the semifinal game against Pelham, the top seed in Division Three. They secured a thrilling overtime victory against Kearsarge in the quarterfinals, a team that had defeated Bow by six goals during the regular season. "Winning that one was awesome," remarked senior captain Ryan McCabe. "To win against those guys, on their home field, under the lights, is a special moment." While the All-State rosters have yet to be announced, the Falcons are certain to have some athletes recognized among the best. Multiple players have had their moments to shine this year. Senior Billy Smethurst, who started as a lefty attackman, has made a tremendous impact. He helped the Falcons beat a tough Laconia team with five goals, and also scored two overtime game-winners, one against Plymouth to close out the regular season, and another a week later against Kearsarge. Keenan Hubbard has also played a significant role, taking over Owen Walton’s defensive midfield position. Walton, a first-team All-State defensive middie, left big shoes to fill, but Hubbard has made impressive strides throughout the season, and his development has been crucial to the Falcons' success. “We can really rely on Keenan,” Ryan said. “He’s a big fella that can do everything the team needs him to. He’s been absolutely huge down the stretch for us.” Hubbard recently scored the biggest goal of his career against Kearsarge to tie the game, which the Falcons ultimately won by one. While the team has begun to play cohesively, it's clear that Gavin McCabe is the leader. As the school's top athlete, McCabe had numerous offers to pursue lacrosse at the college level and even had football offers. “The offense revolves around him. It’s quite clear he’s the MVP of this league, and he’s by far the best player to be here since our head coach, Devin Calkins,” Ryan said. “What he’s done here in his three years at Bow is incredible. I’m honored to play by his side."
Girls Lacrosse
The girls lacrosse team had a remarkable season, finishing with a 15-2 record. Despite playing in Division Three, their only regular-season losses were to Division Two Hollis Brookline and Division One Portsmouth. The regular season was eventful, with Head Coach Chris Raabe achieving her 300th career win and Olivia Selleck becoming the program's leader in total points. The squad dominated all season long, trouncing every Division Three team by massive margins. Their only close Division Three matchup came against Gilford, where they managed to squeak by with a 12-11 victory. The Lady Falcons boasted numerous first-team All-State players, including Olivia Selleck, Kendall Murray, Jill Harpring, and Ella Gray. Kylie McKee also received second-team All-State honors. The team was led by midfielder Olivia Selleck, who has committed to play college lacrosse at Bucknell University, a prestigious Patriot League school in Pennsylvania. Kendall Murray also committed last offseason, choosing Division Two lacrosse at New Haven in Connecticut. Very recently, Ella Gray committed to Division Two Southern New Hampshire. The Falcons advanced to the semifinals, where they had a back-and-forth battle with Gilford, a team they had previously beaten by only one goal. They forced overtime after two critical goals from freshman Charlotte Duncan, a rising star in the program. Unfortunately, Gilford scored the game-winning goal, securing an 11-10 victory.
Baseball
The baseball team has had its best season in recent years, finishing with a 14-5 record. The Falcons narrowly defeated Hanover 4-3 in the quarterfinals, in a game that went down to the wire. They now move on to the semifinals, where they will face the top-seeded John Stark. Senior Caleb Szafran commented, "We have really come together as a team to improve both our strengths and weaknesses. No matter the outcome of the games, whether we win or lose, we work on our personal and team skills during practice to help us prepare for the next one." As for the team's top performers, Sean Guerrette has been an incredible pitcher, Owen Cray has been a key asset at shortstop, Brady Lover has excelled as a catcher, and Owen Webber has been the team's most consistent performer. Many athletes on the squad received All-State honors. Sean Guerrette won the most prestigious award in Division Two, Pitcher of the Year. Guerrette has had a truly remarkable season, managing to only allow players on base due to an error—a significant feat. Owen Webber received first-team honors, while Dillan Abbate and Brady Lover received second-team honors. Colby Smith and Jake Reardon were awarded third-team honors.
Softball
The softball team has played exceptionally well this season, boasting an impressive 12-4 record. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given that the team lost two of its standout players from the previous year: Hannah McGonigle, the best player in the program's history and Division Two Player of the Year, and Emily Kiah, a First Team All-State player. Despite these significant losses, the team demonstrated resilience and adaptability, managing to exceed all expectations and even surpass their record from last year. Their playoff run has been nothing short of impressive. In the first round, they dominated Lebanon with a decisive 12-0 victory. The subsequent game against ConVal was much closer, a nail-biting 3-2 win that sends them into the semifinals, where they will face Plymouth for a chance to compete in the state title game. Three players were selected for All-State teams. Taylor Ouellette, the team’s top performer this year, received First Team All-State honors. Ella Roos earned Second Team All-State, and Madison Oppold was named Honorable Mention. Regardless of the outcome in the semi final game, the team should feel proud for their outstanding success as a team this year.

Everyone is enthusiastic and fun to compete with both during meets and at practices.
