What Should be Taught in Schools
What Should be Taught in Schools

I believe that schools should teach life skills that can be used later in life. I believe schools should teach things like how to buy a house, or how to manage your money. Schools do have a money management class, but it is just basics, and in my experience everything was online and I don't remember any of it (and I took it last semester).
I believe that students should be taught what to do when your car breaks down, or how to prevent and handle a grease fire. I believe students should be taught how to do their taxes, because some parents won't teach their kids that. I think schools should not be set up like factories. Classrooms should be an environment in which students don't have to raise their hand to speak. By removing this expectation, students will be more collaborative with other students. Classrooms should be a place where students feel comfortable to speak their minds.
Schools should teach students how to do what they want in their life. Students shouldn't have to sit in a chair for 7 hours of their day listening to a teacher speak about things that students won't remember, or that won't be relevant for their future. Students should learn how to be creative, and how to use their knowledge to invent. Schools should teach self control and perspective thinking. Schools should teach students about mental health and how to improve time-management. Schools should teach healthy cooking and how to manage health. Schools should teach students about the environment, and how they can help save their environment.
Students are the future, and they should be taught life skills and how to cooperate with other people. In today's society and today's world, students should learn how to do taxes, not how to find all the angles of a right triangle with a theorem.
